Live Performances Captured By Fans For Fans

For more than 11 years, Pegstar.net Presents has been promoting and producing some Houston’s most notable concerts both large and small. Pegstar has since grown from a company that presented your favorite touring band on a weekend into a company that hosts over 300 concerts a year. Notably, Pegstar.net Presents is also an organizing partner in Free Press Summer Fest. In our efforts to constantly keep our ‘ear to the ground’, our staff is comprised on several artists and musicians who not only work on these events but are zealous music fans themselves as well. During a lull in shows last fall, these passionate staff members developed a minimal recording studio in their living room just adjacent to legendary live music venue Fitzgerald’s. The idea was to use the room as a personal rehearsal space but it quickly turned into a place where a band wanting to try out a new bass line before their set would practice. It was also the place where a touring artist would sit down on a drum kit, bring the thunder between switching the whites from the washer to the dryer or after a shower with wet hair dripping on the drum heads. The guys quickly decided this wasn’t something they should keep to themselves and started to ask bands if they would play and let them record the experience. So we now have the opportunity to present these rare performances to the general public in the form of The Spare Room Sessions. We like to think of them as the extra part of the show that should have come with the CD or T-Shirt you took home. We hope you like them
